Why? Because You Know Somone
Stop for moment. I know you are busy. I know you are excited about it being Friday and about Spring coming, but just stop for one moment and think if you know someone who has been affected by cancer.
I bet you do, and if you don't then you can think about me. I had cancer when I was 3 and had my left kidney removed. I am now a happy healthy 36 year old because of the wonderful treatment I received at Dana Farber Cancer Institute.
I wish I could run a marathon but that is not going to happen. My friend and co-worker Katie who is about one of the coolest people you will ever meet is more in shape than anyone I know and she is running the Boston Marathon on Team Dana Farber this April.
If you can skip coffee for a week - think about donating $5.00
If you can bring your lunch for one week instead of buying - think about donating $20
If you can skip buying that new sweater/etsy item/cool piece of jewlery/books you want - consider donating $50
If you know someone who has been touched by cancer or even if you don't, please think about helping Katie out on her run and donating. Every single dollar helps and no amount is too little.
Stop for a moment and think...what if you needed someone running for you?
Found Me a Keeper
I think I found me a keeper for a Chiropractor. The guy I went to tonight was MUCH more professional and took the "whole" of me into consideration, not just the top vertebra of my spine. The pain I am feeling is stemming from my C5 vertebra and surrounding upper back - like way up by my neck - muscles. I see him again on Friday.
Best part? Scooby. Scooby is the office dog who is so endearing and sits next to you when the Chiropractor (his owner) is talking to you. Scooby rocks. I have to remember to bring him a Milkbone on Friday.
Adam made it to VA OK. I have not talked much about his trip because it is to take care of some family stuff and support his sister and well he doesn't like me posting much about it and I respect that.
So my first of 4 nights without my husband? A chiropractic appointment, a blog entry, a dog walk, dinner and Prison Break. I mean come on it does not get any more wild than that does it?
Tomorrow night I am actually socializing with a friend. The one friend I have who will actually come over and hang out with me and spazzy Marley. Most of my friends don't have the patience for her spaz. She truly is the dog whisperer and can get Marley to be sane so we can have dinner and maybe watch a movie.
