Thursday Thirteen - I Think...
|
Thirteen Things I Think (watch out) |
- I think that if you do not get any emails in a 2 hours span at work that should be a sign that you can go home for the day.
- I think that an English major should never be left alone with Java code…trust me it is dangerous..for that matter CSS code is a bad idea too.
- I think that no matter what everyone should be able to get 8 hours of sleep a night
- …and 3 full meals a day
- I think that a mandatory day at the spa should be instituted for every woman twice a year once in the spring and once in the fall.
- I think that tampons and birth control should be subsidized by the government.
- I think that Bush should just stop being President now.
- I think that everyone should get July or August off; and that it should switch yearly to be fair.
- I think that it should cost A LOT less to adopt a child who is living in an orphanage already. Like it should be FREE except for the cost of travel.
- I think everyone should be sent to their room for a nap at least once a day
- I think that no one should have to deal with a serious illness or disease more than once in their life
- I SERIOUSLY think that we should go to a 4 day work week
- I think that if 10 people read this I will be lucky!

Thirteen Things Randomly Floating Through My Mind |
- Why don't I have more time to read? I really want to finish the two books I am working on reading right now.
- Now that I am caught up on episodes, should I watch LOST week to week or wait and watch a bunch of epidodes at one time?
- Why on EARTH would Silda Spitzer choose to stand beside her
husbandbetrayer in a public forum? - Why is there such a mis-distribution of wealth in this country and what can be done about it?
- I really hope Obama wins.
- Shoot, I keep forgetting to return my library book.
- I really do live for the weekends.
- I like my job more than I have liked any other job I have had before.
- Portland Maine this summer is going to be fantastic.
- My mom just suggested another mother - daughter weekend away in August - I will definitely take her up on that.
- I hate weddings that are held over long weekend - we have one over Labor Day - the upside is it will be gorgeous in VT.
- I can not believe that I am talking about summer, but it will be here before we know it (Yay!)
- I have been in a better mood the past 2-3 weeks than I have been in a long time. Spring MUST be just around the corner.

Thursday Thirteen
When Adam and I decided to start down the journey of trying to get pregnant, I vowed that I would not make every post about that. It might be interesting to us but I am sure it gets old fast with the other 7 people who read my blog. But I am excited so a post here and there will crop up and the rest of it I chronical ad nauseum in my off line journal.
So this week's Thursday's Thirteen is done with a bit of tongue and cheek humor because while it is accurate I have found that if I don't keep some laughter in there I will overthink myself to death!

Thirteen Things I Get to Do to Try and Make A Baby*
- Come off of diabetes meds and get on insulin pump
- Be on insulin for a month
- Come off of my depression meds and birth control (watch out world!)
- Keep a calendar of my fertile days (thanks to “myfertilityfriend” (I know...how cornyand overly cutsey)
- Have sex on fertile days
- Pray
- Monitor my blood sugars like crazy
- Count every carb I put into my mouth
- Get my period
- Curse it and start again at #5
- Remain calm and present at all times
- Repeat until pregnant or for 12 months.
*As with most other things in my life I cannot just do this the two-step way of "haev sex", "get pregnant". For me (as for many women, it is a bit more complicated but I am certainly glad I could get it down to fit into a Thursday Thirteen and get an entire 13 steps!

Ending the Energy Crisis and Thursday Thireen
Before I post my Thursday Thirteen for the week I just want to say this. If someone could figure out the way to channel all of the energy that my brain uses going from one topic <zoom>over to another topic <zoom>on to a third topic that is totally irrelevant to my life now or in the near future but MIGHT be worth thinking about a year from now<zoom> back to a different random topic.......if this could happen - we would have no energy crisis.
Someday I am going to do a post about all of the random thoughts I have during the day. It's ridiculous really. Interesting at times, unnecessarily stressful at other times but MAN there is a lot that goes on up there in my head!
